SCH is the Port of Southampton’s premier stevedore for heavy ro-ro operations. We handle all manner of over-sized cargoes from wheeled to tracked vehicles and static units loaded on trailers.

We take care of your cargo from the moment it enters the port, receiving and marshalling in secure compounds ready for shipment. We also have a comprehensive fleet of tug and trailer equipment for handling unit loads.

In preparation for ship arrival, our dedicated cargo managers create efficient stowage plans and loading schedules. Once the ship is berthed and discharge completed, our teams of fully trained stevedores will switch operation mode to loading, checking cargoes to verify the correct shipping details, carefully stowing units on board and then lashing to deck.

The process is built around consistently high rates of productivity to ensure fast turnarounds, with our flexible labour arrangements enabling us to handle several ships simultaneously.
